sigrid nunez
Sigrid Nunez is an American writer whose seventh novel, The Friend, a New York Times bestseller, won the 2018 National Book Award and was a finalist for the 2019 Simpson/Joyce Carol Oates Prize, and was adapted for film release in 2025. Her novel What Are You Going Through originated during her Djerassi residency in 2017 and was adapted for film by Pedro Almodóvar as his first English-language film, The Room Next Door, also released in 2025. Nunez was named as the recipient of a Windham-Campbell Literature Prize in the fiction category in 2025.


sidra bell
Choreographer Sidra Bell is known for her groundbreaking work across the contemporary dance world, including being the first Black female choreographer commissioned by New York City Ballet. A two-time Bessie Award nominee and recipient of the Creative Capital Award, she is the founder of Sidra Bell Dance New York and has been an artist-in-residence at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in 2022. Her boundary-pushing choreography has been commissioned by ODC Theater and performed internationally, earning acclaim from The New York Times, Essence, and The TODAY Show.

yosvany terry
Cuban-born composer and saxophonist Yosvany Terry is internationally celebrated for his bold fusion of Afro-Cuban roots and contemporary jazz, earning a Grammy nomination for his album New Throned King and the prestigious Doris Duke Artist Award. A 2022 Djerassi Resident Artist, Terry has collaborated with luminaries such as Roy Hargrove, Steve Coleman, and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and is currently Senior Lecturer and Director of Jazz Ensembles at Harvard University. His work bridges tradition and innovation, making him a vital force in both performance and music education.

Artful Harvest is the signature annual fundraising gala of the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the event brings together celebrated artists, Djerassi supporters, and lovers of the arts for an unforgettable afternoon of performance, fine food, and community.
Artful Harvest 2025 will be held on Sunday, September 28 at 3:00 PM inside the Artists Barn at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside, California.
There is plenty of onsite parking for guests. Additionally, a shuttle option can be arranged for attendees traveling from San Francisco. Please check our Special Offers page for details.
Yes! The Djerassi Group Show opens early at 2:00 PM, providing a special preview of artwork available for purchase. Guests are invited to a meet-and-greet with the artists during this time before the gala begins.
Your ticket includes a Champagne cocktail hour, a Michelin-star chef’s farm-to-table dinner prepared by The Village Pub, incredible wines, exclusive access to the Group Art Show preview, alumni artist performances, and concludes with a legendary sunset over the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The attire is Ranch Elegant. We recommend refined-yet-relaxed outfits suited for an afternoon indoors and outdoors—think breathable fabrics, boots or block heels, and creative flair with comfort in mind.

This year’s program features a first-of-its-kind collaboration between choreographer Sidra Bell and jazz artist Yosvany Terry, both Djerassi alumni whose work exemplifies the bold, creative spirit of the program. Additionally, acclaimed author Sigrid Nunez will read from her novel What Are You Going Through, a work that originated during her 2017 Djerassi residency.
